C256 Foenix RevCX - Early Adopters' Release - bring up

Here it is, this is a new beginning. The Rev CX version. At this point, a lot of problem have been ironed out from RevC0/RevC1 but since we have yet migrated to another package it is still possible that we might encounter problems. However, the difference in this case is the worst can happen will be...

Re: FAT 32

Small update for the fat : it's working(ish). I can search for a file in the root directory (first folder of the absorbance like C:\ or G:\) and if the name match (short name : 8.3 exactly) well it load the first cluster of 512 Byte on the screen. http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2019/38/7/15691...

Re: RevC1s Debug Thread

Stefanie, Oh my gosh. It even says FMX Sound Card Expansion on there! I know a lot of people will drool over the last picture. That daughterboard, being in such a prominent position, is going to attract people's attention when first looking at the system. Nyxel, I am glad you like it... Cheers Stef...

Re: RevC1s Debug Thread

Greetings. I'm a newcomer interested in backing the C256 Foenix project and a developer who grew up on C# (version 2.0 came out 14 years ago). Now, as a hobby, I want to take up Assembly or C and start assigning values to memory addresses instead of variables! I was hooked by the amount of music on...

Re: Fraggy: Frogger-Like Game on the Foenix IDE

Building the game made me see the machine up-close and personal. I'm trying to figure out a nice way to share what I've learnt. For example, building the tiles and sprites was not terribly difficult with The Gimp, but figuring out how to export them such that they could be easily loaded in the Foen...

Re: September Update

4 MEGA BYTES! I'm so envious! ;-) What crazy kind of games we will be able to write!! I don't know... You tell me! I thought you saw that picture? No, it is still 640x800, till I get the RevC board working perfectly, then I will begin to work on the 800x600 mode. I sure you are going to enjoy the e...

Re: RevC1s Debug Thread

I am posting here to give an update on the RevC1X. Well, after I realized that I would be stuck with a truckload of problems if I kept going with that board with BGAs, I decided to stop, something I should have done a while ago. I decided to step back and see if there was not a different route I cou...

Re: FAT 32

So far I can read the MBR, the Boot Sector, and the Root Directory with the first data cluster associated with the file/folder Now I need to test the FAT function to get the next cluster from the current cluster. The 5E in the picture mean : deleted file. http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2019/37...

Moving on from RevC1s to RevC1x

Stefany's log, stardate : 73140.7 alright, I tend to make life difficult for myself because apparently I love to struggle. :o) I have assembled a RevC1x late Monday night and I did it with Lead Free paste since the BGAs have lead free balls. I can tell you right now this is not something I will do a...
