Re: A video on the C256

I had a chance to watch your video this morning (Netherlands..). Clear speech, good pacing, clear image (not out of focus or something). Not to long and to the point, so watchable by people with an American attention span :). And very important, no theatrics... So no horrors on my opinion.

Re: General Comments

Hackaday is very Pro-David Murray or anything else that is not C256 Foenix. I would not put it past them to ignore it as a competitor, but if they do so for that reason I would consider it beyond childish. They do not have to endorse it, just report on project goals, availability and specs. Let the...

Re: General Comments

Only 7 as of now :( . That is somewhat disappointing. I was expecting I would have to be quick to buy in the first batch, apparently not so. Maybe the project needs a little more visibility? I think this is an understatement... It needs visibility, but I think it needs to come from other people tha...

Re: General Comments

Why would we want to clone it? You can still buy those in Humongous quantities! Stefany Cloning it would allow for putting it in the fpga's already aboard, maybe as alternative for the Sid. That would be cheaper than creating and distributing a hardware add-on. I'm not saying that this should be do...

Re: Video chip Vicky capability question

Now, trying to do anything in Bitmap with the Foenix will be very challenging and if I were you I would try to stay away. The Power of the CPU and the size and the speed of the screen refresh is too disproportionate. You just don't have enough bandwidth to peek and poke in the video memory @ full f...

Re: General Comments

If I have the choice I will go for the YM2612 because it the one in the genesis. The other-one is easy to clone I will say, at least for the FM part. It's only digital so you don't care with witch technologist is used to generate the final signal. The tricky part will be to find a DAC how match the...

Re: Video chip Vicky capability question

Sometimes, I come across preachy and very opinionated As long as one is truthful and polite, expressing opinion is fine by me, even if it is a strong one :). I have strong opinions myself. That said, the truth is that I'm not that creative when it comes to designing a game. I'm no musician or graph...

Re: General Comments

I believe the fpga code will be open source, doesn't it? if one is interested he might replace the fpga SID with and FPGA YM2612 or such as an alternative firmware option....

But for now, I would be happy if it gets to market as is.
